Truth on a Leash

The Subjugation of Truth

How the truth is lost in the sea of rebellion.

Sometimes I think truth gets lost in our world of voices and opinions. Truth does exist, despite the effort to subdue it. If you were on trial for a crime you did not do, you would desperately want the truth to be known. The difference between objectiveness and subjectiveness is that objectiveness is a study of the object while subjectiveness is subjecting the object to something other than itself. Subjectiveness is determining someone is guilty by hearsay or feelings. People have been falsely convicted of a crime, because of subjective reasoning. What needs to be done is forensic testing of the crime scene to find the truth. This is being objective for we are letting the objects of the scene tell us the truth. Objectiveness is reality, and we may not like what we find, but it is the truth.

What has subtly happen is we have been taught to subjugate truth to our own thoughts. We have been told that how we feel determines the truth. Through media, we are taught many subjective ideas as being the truth. To avoid this brainwashing we must ask, by what authority do they make their claim?

Objectiveness requires an object. One needs a fixed object determine the truth. In order to perform a true study, one needs a control, something that does not change in order to evaluate something that might change. If one is trying to determine their location they need a fixed point like the magnetic north pole. So when it comes to determining what is right and wrong, what is just and unjust we need the control, that reference point to be objective.

In the realm of Christianity, there have been individuals, churches, and denominations that have rejected the Bible as absolute authority. This seems rather irrational because without the Bible there is no understanding of Christianity, in fact, the teachings of Jesus Christ is absent. Those who reject the Bible are subjugating the spiritual realm to their own opinions which lead to the blind leading the blind.

The Apostle Peter assured us that the Bible is a more sure word:

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:”

2 Peter 1:19

What Peter is teaching us is that is that having a written record is more dependable than our experiences. He compares his experience on the mount of transfiguration to the written word and says the written word is far superior. The reason is our experiences can be wrongly interrupted, but more importantly is that the details can be forgotten. If you have ever seen a photograph of yourself taken years before, you realize the photo is a better record of how you looked than your own memory. The Word of God can be checked over and over again. We can compare passage to passage. We can discuss it with others and each reference the same record. This makes the Bible a perfect object as a fixed point for truth. However what we do know is that many, if not most, reject the Bible as an object with authority.

The American people and the church in America have come to a new low, for now, they not only reject the bible as an objective reference point for what is true, but we are now even rejecting the natural revelation of God. Jesus said;

4And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife:and they twain shall be one flesh?

Matthew 19:4-5

An objective look at the human body  and one knows what is was design for, and yet there is a rejection of this clear understanding of God’s ways. It is trumped by our emotional arguments. We can no longer even trust pure science to make sense of things. This is the last leg of our journey of subjugation, for now, we will be lost as a ship with no means to navigate. Our children will be raised in a moral vacuum only to end up destroying one another. It is not a scare tactic, it is the same as a warning not to ignore gravity or any other natural law. You may get away with it for a time, but the time will come that we will reap the consequences of the blatant subjugation of God to our feeble knowledge and base emotions. It boils down to the teenage mentality that even if I am wrong, I will do it no matter what, and never listen to authority. The heart of man is truly rebellious!
